Pelican PCS383C Todd Gustafson Photo Safari Rolling Camera/Computer Case, Brown. One of the newer cases made by Pelican. Sleek, professional rolling carry on case has two compartments.
Its front compartment easily unzips making a second carry on should you need it.
Designed in conjunction with photo safari leader Todd Gustafson, the Photo Safari case is designed to meet the biggest challenge photographers face when traveling to remote locations-getting the gear there safely.
Most photographers cringe at the thought of checking their valuable-and trip-critical-camera gear on international flights. Stories of broken, lost, and stolen equipment are common. Yet, when going on an outdoor excursion, finding a way to transport the equipment is a huge problem. That’s where Todd Gustafson’s experience came in. “On a safari, the Jeep is my camera bag,” he said. “The trick is getting the gear to Tanzania safely.” After years of searching for solutions, Todd teamed up with OmegaBrandess to design a rugged rolling case that fit the needs of a remote expedition. The result is an attractive, tough rolling soft case that works well for Gustafson, his clients, and soon photographers everywhere. “The Pelican Photo Safari Rolling Bag gets me and my photo gear to the ends of the Earth and back,” Gustafson said.
The body of the new rolling case is the biggest allowable size for international airline carry-on regulations, and can hold big camera bodies and long lenses better than any other carry-on luggage available. Space is maximized with an attached, removable laptop shoulder bag that can carry 17” laptops, cords and chargers, and other personal items in the many pockets. When it’s time to board the plane, the laptop bag is unzipped from the rolling case, and goes under the seat while the roller goes overhead.
Designed in an attractive chocolate brown and top-grain leather finish, the case is durable and attractive.
High-wear areas are reinforced, and a storm cover protects the case when the elements turn mean.
There are even D-rings if the case needs to be hoisted over a shoulder at some point. The Photo
Safari case is tough, and looks it. But, it also looks a lot like attractive luggage, and not a
camera bag-a plus in deterring thieves and overly-interested customs agents.
